Hanan is a 25-year-old neuroscience researcher at Stanford University, who is currently contributing to a research program. She grew up in New Orleans and attended the oldest all-girls Catholic high school in the area before earning her undergraduate degree from Tulane University, where she completed a double major in Public Health while also fulfilling her pre-medical requirements. Following high school, she spent time teaching English in Jordan and Turkey, reflecting her adventurous spirit and commitment to service.

Hanan knew early on that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine, with a particular interest in neuroscience. Her passion around caring for others began early; while in seventh grade, she volunteered in skilled nursing facilities, where she developed a deep appreciation for working with older adults. She especially enjoyed spending time with residents, caring for them, and even singing to those in the skilled nursing facility. Hanan is an exceptional young woman whose warmth, intelligence, and compassion are evident in her interactions with others.
