Courtney’s Introduction

Hi, I’m Courtney,

I’m an energetic and curious person with a passion for learning and connection. I hold a Master’s in Social Work and have spent the past six years in Australia working at a hospital with veterans living with PTSD, using cognitive therapeutic approaches. That work opened my curiosity into different forms of medicine and healing, and I’m now preparing for a 4–6 month stay in the Bay Area to study Native American medicine.

I’m originally from the States, but after a study-abroad year in Australia I decided to complete my master’s there, and eventually earned citizenship. I love to cook — especially Ayurvedic-inspired dishes, since I believe food is medicine. I’m also very active and enjoy yoga, golf, pickleball, and spending time in nature. I’m full of life, I love engaging conversations, and I’m equally interested in others as I am in new experiences. I’m excited to bring my background, curiosity, and warmth into a Joey placement while I study Native American medicine in San Francisco.
