Beryl (also known as Zijun) is a senior at UCLA studying economics and studio art. Born in Shenzen, China and now a dual citizen, she currently lives at home with her family in Arcadia, CA and wants to move closer to campus.

She applied to be a Joey because of an interest in helping others and a desire to live with — and learn from — an older adult, having always connected naturally with older generations. An adaptable and highly capable young woman, she brings a wide range of practical skills to a Host household, including cooking (with a passion for fine dining and healthy meal prep), driving, errands, and tech support. She is also the founder of a nonprofit supporting girls' education in rural China, an oil painter, and a former gymnast — someone who brings both energy and thoughtfulness to daily life.
